Robert Francis Dineen, was born in 1939. He was the son of Judge Benedict and Mary Dineen, and grew up with two brothers, Joseph and Benedict Jr., in Manhattan. Bob and Pat skated at all of the New York City metropolitan rinks: Brooklyn Ice Palace, Central Park’s Wollman Rink, Asbury Park, West Hudson, and Iceland at Madison Square Garden. They also trained summers at Lake Placid. Bob and Pat first competed with different partners. Pat and Peter Moesel, coached by Harry Stafford, placed sixth in silver dance at the 1956 U.S. Championships.
